The film was directed by and starred Jackie Burroughs. A important person in the history of Canadian films, Burroughs was born in the UK in 1939. In this film she portrays Maryse Holder, an American feminist, professor, writer and sexual adventurer. Holder was murdered in Mexico in 1977 under mysterious circumstances. The letter which she wrote from Mexico became the basis of a book, "Give Sorrow Words", published by Grove Press in 1979. It is this book which was adapted for this movie. Jackie Burroughs appeared in over 50 films, and she died in 2010. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this poster is an authentic U.S. Poster for the Circle Films original distribution of this Canadian movie in the United States.
