Columbia Pictures Original One-Sheet Poster (27x41) Folded Fine Plus Condition to Very Fine Marlon Brando
Columbia Pictures Original One-Sheet Poster for the Laslo Benedek directed drama THE WILD ONE (1953) starring Marlon Brando as the conflicted leader of a gang of motorcycle riders. The gang rides into a small California town and upsets the locals, acting tough and looking for trouble. But underneath the seething presence of Brando is something else. It's sensitivity. And it's on display with actress Mary Murphy, who plays one of the local girls. Brando's iconic performance as one of the the misunderstood, predates, and to some extent no doubt influenced the appearance of motorcycle gangs like the Hell's Angels. The film also stars Timothy Carey, John Doucette, Blackie Whiteford and a young Lee Marvin. This poster was a theater-used copy and is folded. But condition is graded fine plus to very fine. Please note that there is a Canadian Censor's rubber stamp on the front of the poster. This poster would look great linen-backed, and if that process were undertaken, the censor stamp could be easily removied. Some collector's would certainly prefer the poster exactly as it is. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees this poster to be authentic; MovieArt does not sell reproductions.
