Original Republic Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Franklin Adreon 12-chapter serial action adventure, TRADER TOM OF THE CHINA SEAS (1954) starring Harry Lauter, Aline Towne, and Lyle Talbot. In one of the last Republic serials to be made, the United Nations has island trader Tom Rogers (Lauter) and Vivian Wells (Towne), daughter of a schooner captain, spearheading the effort to keep subversive native groups from starting a revolution in fictional "Burmatra." This serial is typical of the Republic serials of the 1950s - adventurous, cliffhanging, episodic. This poster features the almost-pulp art which typifies the Republic style.
