Original 20th Century-Fox One-Sheet Poster (27x41) for Sidney Lanfield romantic comedy, THIN ICE (1937) starring Sonja Henie and Tyrone Power. The film paired two big stars for Twentieth Century Fox - the matinee idol Tyrone Power, one of Fox's biggest contract players, and ice skating sensation Sonja Henie. With the popularity of traveling ice shows like the Ice Capades, figure skating became big in the 1930s. Henie, an international ice skating champion, (she won the Gold Medal at the 1928 Olympics) came to Hollywood to make films for Darryl Zanuck. Her first film for Fox ONE IN A MILLION proved successful and soon Henie and Tyrone Power, with whom she had a much publicized affair, were seen on screen and off. Her career continued through the 1950s. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen, but spent her final years in Norway accumulating a major modern art collection.
