Original 1960s Re-Release Egyptian Poster (28x39) for the Ludwig Berger, Michael Powell, and Tim Whelan classic family fantasy, THE THIEF OF BAGDAD (1940) starring Conrad Veidt, Sabu, June Duprez, and John Justin. Produced by the legendary Alexander Korda, this exceptional British film has been described as one of the best fantasy films of all time. Raoul Walsh originally brought this story to the silent screen in 1924 starring Douglas Fairbanks, but this version was in glorious Technicolor with some of the most outstanding special effects of the time. Indeed, the film won the Academy Award for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Special Effects. This truly magical film still entertains audiences todayÑyoung and old. The poster is mounted on older Egyptian linen and is in very good condition. The art on this poser is believed to be by Wahib Fahmi.
