Original 20th Century Fox One-Sheet Poster for the country music film THAT TENNESSEE BEAT (1966). Hollywood often did not know how to treat country music other than to make movies that were thin plots hung on a bunch of performances. And that's a good thing because at least some of those stars had recorded performances that were better than the early TV tapes that were not very good quality. Here's a host of sixties country stars: Merle Travis, The Statler Brothers, Pete Drake, Minnie Pearl, and Boots Randolph. Richard Brill directed.
