Original U.S. Three Sheet Poster from Hal Roach Distribution for the John Berry directed exploitation film TAMANGO (1957). The film stars Dorothy Dandrige, Curt Jurgens and Jean Servais. The movie was a French-Italian co-production, and was filmed in 1957. Not released in France until 1959, and in 1959 was first shown in the U.S. The title refers to one of the characters, Tamango, played by Alex Cressan. Dorothy Dandridge was a star in the U.S., having appeared in several U.S. films including CARMEN JONES with Harry Belafonte. Oddly, this film was based on a novel by Prosper Merimee, who wrote the novel which became Bizet's famous opera, CARMEN. This poster was used in a theater and is printed, as some three-sheets are, on three separate panels. The poster is in good condition with some minor defects.
