Original British Handbill, issued by Pathe, for the Lambert Hillyer directed western film SOUTH OF THE RIO GRANDE (1945). In this film Duncan Renaldo plays The Cisco Kid, a role he originated in 1945. In that year alone, there were three Cisco Kid films released, and this one was the third. Renaldo was a handsome, winning Hispanic guy who had been in the movie biz since 1926. He made 79 movies over this period. In 1950 he became a TV star, playing The Cisco Kid on the small screen until 1956 and insuring his legacy as on the TV's early western heroes.
