She had been a huge star for Paramount in the 1940s, a favorite with audiences. In February of 1952, THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH was released, and she was part of that famous cast. Then she made SOMEBODY LIKES ME, which was released in September of that year. Then she virtually disappeared from Hollywood. Personal misfortunes, and a jarring experience with replacing Judy Garland in 1950's ANNIE GET YOU GUN took it's toll on Hutton. In this film she plays the singer Blossom Seely.
