Description
THE SNIPER. Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41). Folded Fine Condition ARTHUR FRANZ ADOLPHE MENJOU EDWARD DMYTRYK Director
Original Columbia Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Edward Dmytryk film noir, THE SNIPER (1952) starring Adolphe Menjou, Arthur Franz, Gerald Mohr, and Marie Windsor. Shot on location in San Francisco, the film is the study of one man's violence against women. Franz gives an extremely convincing performance as a sex criminal released from prison for assaulting women, only to feel compelled now to kill women with a stolen military rifle. The film received a single Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay. The movie's plot rings scarily true today, in a world where mass shootings are not rare. Dmytryk was one of the Hollywood Ten, prosecuted for failing to give names to the House Un-American Activities Committee. This original one sheet poster is folded, and it was used in a theater. It shows signs of general use, including a small hole at the fold intersection and some minor border distresses. This examlple has good color, but with some defects, including small holes and some minor creasing. We have priced this poster accordingly. It should be regarded as average-used. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is an authentic, vintage one-sheet poster from this film. MovieArt Austin will sell no reproductions.
