Paramount Pictures Original Italian 79x55 poster for the Cecil B. DeMille directed religious epic THE SIGN OF THE CROSS (1932). The film stars Fredric March, Claudette Colbert, Elissa Landi, John Carradine and Charles Laughton. This poster is very fragile with very weak fold lines. We are offering it at an appropriate price. DeMille made many epics in his reign as the master of the Hollywood Epic, but this film was special in that it had a very specific interest Christian history and values. But DeMille was never above pandering with skin and sensationalism. Paramount reissued the film in 1957, in the wake of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. We particularly suggest that you have the poster linen-backed if you have an interest in displaying it. Colors are vivid, but the poster does need the structural help of conservation.
