Original MGM Window Card (14x22) for the Michael Anderson church drama, THE SHOES OF THE FISHERMAN (1968) starring Anthony Quinn, Lawrence Olivier, and Oskar Werner. Based on Morris WestÕs bestÐselling novel, the film chronicles a man, Kiril Lakota (Quinn), who was a bishop in the Ukrainian Catholic Church and has been imprisoned in a Soviet gulag for twenty years. When he is released, he is sent to the Vatican where he is greeted and lauded by the Pope and elevated to Cardinal. When the Pope dies, the College of Cardinals elects Kiril Pope. Later, Pope Kiril I comes up with a solution that will feed the starving people of China and avert World War III. This original window card is unfolded and in very fine condition.
