MGM Original U.S. Lobby Card Set, in very fine condition for the John Sturges directed film THE SCARLET COAT (1955) starring Cornel Wilde, Anne Francis, Michael Wilding and George Sanders. This was the last film that John Sturges would direct under contract to a studio. The story is set in the period of the American Revolutionary War and concerns the unmasking of the famous traitor Benedict Arnold. A big picture for MGM, the film fell fairly flat with audiences despite getting the lavish CinemaScope treatment at MGM. It has joined a long list of film about the Revolutionary War, none of them really outstanding. These cards are in excellent condition.
