Paramount Original Italian 39x55 Folded Very Good Condition
Paramount Original Italian Due Foglie (39x55) poster for the George Marshall comedy SCARED STIFF (1953) starring Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. The film also featured Lizabeth Scott, Carmen Miranda, George Dolenz, Dorothy Malone, William Ching and Paul Marion. This movie is a remake of a remake of a remake. The first incarnation of this movie is THE GHOST BREAKER, directed by Cecil B. DeMille in 1914. By 1922 it was being made into a vehicle for silent bad boy Wallace Reid as, once again, THE GHOST BREAKER. Then it was Bob Hope's turn in 1940 with Paulette Goddard in THE GHOST BREAKERS. The Martin and Lewis version came in 1952. Initially they were opposed to making the movie, allegedly because they thought that Hope's version couldn't be topped. But their contract at Paramount prevailed and they were obliged to make the film. One of the highlights of the film is Lewis impersonating one of his co-stars, Carmen Miranda. He lip-syncs a famous Miranda number, "Mama Yo Quiero." Of course, the famous Brazilian star does her own thing in the movie -- and it was to be her last film, as she died of a heart attack in 1955. On this poster Martin, Lewis and Lizabeth Scott are intimidated by a rather amused ghost. The poster was used in a theater in Italy and we feel that the condition is very good, but should also be characterized as average used. There are some small tears and very minor pinholes and other distresses, but overall color is vivid. We would recommend linen-backing for this poster. Ask us about poster conservation services. MovieArt Austin guarantees this poster to be the authentic Italian 39x55 for this movie. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions. On, and by the way, this film was remade two more times -- as GHOST BUSTERS! Ask us about poster conservation services.
