Paramount Pictures Original 40x60 poster, rolled and in fine plus to very fine condition, for the 1962 re-release of REAR WINDOW (1954). The film, one of the most famous and most beloved of the Hitchcock movies, stars James Stewart, Grace Kelly, Wendell Corey, Thelma Ritter, Dick Simmons and Raymond Burr. The plot is well known: it concerns a photographer who is confined to his wheelchair and who witnesses a murder from the window in his apartment building. He has a girlfriend, Grace Kelly, (lucky him), a maid, some friends and they all come by to say hello and whatever. He tries to get them interested in this murder that he's witnesses but it's not quite working out. Posters for the original release of REAR WINDOW, from 1954, are very collected and are pricey. What we like about this poster is the large image of Alfred Hitchcock himself, selling the movie to audiences eight years later. We do get a smaller image of Stewart and Kelly, and a disembodied hear of Raymond Burr, TV's Perry Mason, in the lower left. For Hitch fans, it's irresistible.
