Warner Brothers Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster for the Albert Magnoli directed music film PURPLE RAIN (1984). The film did as much as Prince's own musical talent to rocket the singer into superstardom. The movie was at least partially autobiographical, telling the story of a character simply known as "the kid." It is set in Minneapolis and the kid fronts his band, The Revolution. And there are other bands in the movie also: The Time, fronted by Morris Day and Dez Dickerson and his group, The Modernaires. Applonia Kotero adds some female beauty and talent galore. Also starring Olga Karlator and Clarnece Williams III. This poster is folded, as were most of the one sheet posters from this period, but it is also in very fine plus condition, with excellent paper integrity and vivid color.
