Warner Brothers Original Italian Poster (39x55) for the drama NOBODY LIVES FOREVER (1946). The film starred John Garfield, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Walter Brennan, Faye Emerson, George Coulouris, George Tobias and Robert Shayne. The film was released in the U.S. in 1946, but there was not an Italian release until 1950. The movie is deftly directed by Jean Negulesco. Garfield gets out of the army with a honorable discharge and $50,000 he amassed from small-time cons before the war. He decides that the life of the con is not for him, and wants to settle down with his girlfriend in his hometown, New York. But that doesn't work out. An old pal of his tells him about a rich widow, played by Fitzgerald, that is ripe for fleecing. But in a classic the-hunter-gets-captured-by-the-game noir, the outcome for Garfield is somewhat different. The italian poster is based loosely on the design for the U.S. one-sheet, but with nice art of Garfield and Geraldine Fitzgerald by Averado Ciriello.
