Description
Original Mexican Poster (27x37) Folded Very Fine Condition
Original Mexican Poster (27x37) for the Tito Davison film NEGRO IS MI COLOR (1951). The English translation of the title, is, of course, "Black is My Color". The film stars Marga Lopez, Rita Montaner, Roberto Canedo, Jose Maria Linares-Rivas, Freddy Fernandez, and Los Panchos. The movie is musical version of the American film IMITATION OF LIFE (either version!) and with the same themes. A woman with dark-skinned parents is light-skinned as passes as white. The film was adapted by Jesus Cardenas, Mauricio Wall, and Tito Davison. The wonderful Mexican musical group Los Panchos appears in the film, as they did in fifty or so other movies. Known in the U.S. as Trio Los Panchos, they made a couple of albums with Eydie Gorme. Condition is very fine. Mexican posters are printed on a slight paper and should be handled carefully. We believe this poster would be great linen-backed. Ask us about poster conservation services. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this poster is a vintage, authentic Mexican poster for this film. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
