Original Monogram Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Derwin Abrahams musical western, MISSISSIPPI RHYTHM (1949) starring Jimmie Davis, Veda Ann Borg, Lee "Lasses" White, and Sue England. Davis was surely one of the 20th century's most colorful and interesting characters, and making films and singing country songs was only one part of his long career, which included being elected twice as Governor of Louisiana. After his autobiographical LOUISIANA (1947) was a box office hit for Monogram in which he sang his biggest hit "You Are My Sunshine," the studio came up with this film for him two years later. This original three sheet poster is in very good condition, with tears and pinholes in the corners and numerous fold separations. This poster could be easily restored for a spectacular display.
