Original Republic Pictures One-Sheet Poster (27x41) for the George Sherman "singing" western, MEXICALI ROSE (1939) starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Noah Beery, and Luana Walters. The title is the hit song from Autry's ROOTIN' TOOTIN' RHYTHM (1937), which was so popular that Republic decided to do an entire feature film based on the song. This film turned out to be one of Autry's best performances with non-stop action and great singing. Besides the title song, Gene also croons two other popular crowd-pleasers, "El Rancho Grande" and another memorable song, "You're the Only Star in My Blue Heaven." One sheets on this Autry title have proven to be scarce over the years. This example is in very good condition. Presents adequately, but could benefit from being re-backed.
