Original Set of U.S. Lobby Cards Eight Individual Cards 11x14 Very Fine
Paramount Pictures Set of Original U.S. Lobby Cards (eight 11x14 cards) for the Haskell Wexler directed and photographed film MEDIUM COOL (1969). Wexler was born in 1922. He became one of the great cinematographers working in the American Cinema. Among the films that he photographed were AMERICA, AMERICA (1963), WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? (1966), IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT (1967), THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR (1968), BOUND FOR GLORY (1976) and DAYS OF HEAVEN (1978). That is an impressive list, but the list goes on. In 1969, he made his own film, a startling docudrama filmed on location in Chicago during the chaos the The Democratic National Convention. VietNam was raging, and protesters had come to Chicago to demonstrate. What ensued was chaos, and Wexler filmed in story in the midst of it all, giving them film an immediacy for audiences in 1969. Some of that intensity is lost in contemporary viewings, but the audacity of the movie cannot be understated. Lobby card sets are scarce for the film, and these are in very fine condition. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that these cards are authentic. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
