Original United Artists U.S. One-Sheet Poster for the William Beaudine directed silent comedy LITTLE ANNIE ROONEY (1925) starring Mary PIckford, Gordon Griffith, Eugene Jackson, Oscar Rudolph, Charles K. French, Robert Gordon and Fred Kelsey. The film was written and produced by Mary Pickford. Although she was 33 years old when she played Annie Rooney as a spunky young Irish girl in the slums of New York City, Pickford had tried to play adults in her two previous films. The box-office was disappointing. Audiences simply did not want Mary PIckford to grow up. But grow up she did and she was one of the founding partners of United Artists. This half sheet is one of two that we are aware of, and it appears that this one is in slightly better condition than one that appeared at auction. One corner has been dog-eared and on the right corners the very corner end has been nipped. An appealing poster, demonstrative of the appeal of America's Sweetheart, Mary Pickford.
