Original Columbia Pictures Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Orson Welles film noir, THE LADY FROM SHANGHAI (1947) staring Welles, Rita Hayworth, Everett Sloane, and Glenn Anders. Fascinated by the gorgeous Mrs. Bannister (Hayworth), seaman Michael O'Hara (Welles) joins a bizarre yachting cruise, and ends up mired in a complex murder plot. Welles adapted the screenplay from a novel by Sherwood King, as well as directing the film and playing one of the leading roles. Hayworth, though still married to Welles at the time, was estranged from her husband and only agreed to take the role as part of a final bid to save their marriage. This original lobby card of Hayworth and Welles is in fine condition, showing modest signs of general use. Someone has scribbed in marker on the reverse side of the card, but this does not bleed through to the front. Therefore, we have graded it in slightly lesser condition than the other example of the card that we have at this time.
