Description
Original Italian First Release 79x55 Poster Rare Disney Animation Poster
Original Italian Poster (79x55) for the Walt Disney Company animated masterpiece, LADY AND THE TRAMP (1955). The film was helmed by three master animators, Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson and Hamilton Luske. A wealth of voice talent was showered on the film. American singer Peggy Lee, still regarded as one of the best, voiced four different characters, as well as working with composer Sonny Burke, writing the film's songs. The Tramp was voiced by Larry Roberts, and it was his only major film appearance. Actress Barbara Luddy, who enjoyed a film career beginning in 1926, and a veteran voice actress at Disney, voiced the pampered cocker spaniel Lady. Other performers included Verna Felton, Bill Baucom, George Givot, Lee Millar, Bill Thompson, Stan Freberg, Alan Reed, Dal McKennon and Taylor Holmes. The film was the first animated film to be filmed in CinemaScope. The illustrator for this poster is unknown, but it is clear that the style closely follows Disney Studio art, and it is quite possible that the Italians used art provided by Disney. This poster was used in a cinema in Italy and is folded. There is some toning in the fold lines, which is not unusual for an Italian poster that is almost seventy years old. The poster is large, printed on two separate panels which are joined together to present as one poster. Linen-backing is recommended. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this poster is authentic. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
