Original Cinerama Releasing Corp One-Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Bernard L. Kowalski adventure drama, KRAKATOA: EAST OF JAVA (1969) starring Maximillian Schell, Diane Baker, Brian Keith, and Barbara Werle. The producers learned of the geographic error Krakatoa was really WEST of Java in the Sundra Strait only after all the advertising and publicity materials had already been prepared. It was decided that it would be too costly to correct this error. While the effects surrounding the eruption are good and garnered the film its only Oscar nomination for Best Special Visual Effects the acting, dialogue, and directing are lackluster at best. Kowalski was basically a TV director, and he never really uses the "big" screen, let alone Cinerama, to its full potential. This one sheet was used in a theater and because it has the Cinerama fanfold logo on it, we can presume it was a Cinerama Theater. Condition is very fine, folded.
