Original U.S. 30x40 Poster Style Y Rolled
Original MGM Style Y 30x40 poster, rolled, and in good condition, for the Vincente Minnelli directed musical KISMET (1955). The film stars Howard Keel, Ann Blyth, Vic Damone and Virginia Grey. The film was derived from the Broadway musical by Robert Wright and George Forrest. The music is adapted from the scores of Alexander Borodin. The play opened on December 3, 1953, and it didn't take long for some of the songs, notably "Stranger in Paradise" and "Baubles, Bangles and Beads" to reach the hit parade. MGM acquired the film rights and filmed a glitzy version in CinemaScope and Eastman Color and released it widely, after playing in New York and Los Angeles, just before Christmas of 1955. Damone and Blyth sing well, but it's Delores Gray that fairly sizzles as Lalume as she delivers the brassy "Not Since Nineveh." This 30x40 is one of two styles. It is quite rare. There is some damage to the lower left corner, and we would suggest restoration. Ask us about poster conservation services. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees that this rare poster is an authentic style Y 30x40 from this film. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
