Original French One Panel Poster (47x63) for the Richard Thorpe MGM medieval romance, IVANHOE (1952) starring Robert Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor, Joan Fontaine, and George Sanders. IVANHOE was one of the top four moneymakers of 1952, grossing over $6.2 million. It was filmed on location in Great Britain with a mixed cast of American and British actors. Robert Taylor was handsome and chivalrous in the title role, while Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Fontaine provided glamor and grace. George Sanders is outstanding as the villainous Norman knight Bois Gilbert. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards including Best Picture.
