This masterful film is the story of a small-town doctor who learns that all the townspeople are slowly being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates. At first, he thinks that there is some kind of "mass hysteria" overtaking his community where friends and loved-ones are described as "not themselves" (literally!). Indeed, the aliens come to earth in the form of "seed pods" and complete the transformation when the unsuspecting humans fall asleep. This film is one of the American Film Institute's top 10 Science Fiction movies of all time. Director Siegel creates an intense sense of claustrophobia and paranoia, which is further amplified by the excellent musical score from Carmen Dragon. The acting is superb, and the chemistry between Kevin McCarthy and the lovely Dana Wynter seems very real and believable. There are few such subtle and cerebral sci-fi horror films made, and this film is simply one of the very best. This original one-sheet poster is in very fine condition. While the poster is in nice shape, the linen-lip (the poster is linen-backed) has been trimmed to about 1/3 inch all around the poster. Presents very nicely indeed.
