Original Paramount Pictures Deluxe Pressbook (12x20). Twenty pages. Very good condition. Art by David Weisman.
Original Paramount Pictures Deluxe Pressbook (12x20) for the Otto Preminger drama about race relations and greed in 1940s Georgia, HURRY SUNDOWN (1967) starring Michael Caine, Jane Fonda, George Kennedy, John Phillip Law, and Robert Hooks. The film chronicles a greedy white landowner who is planning to dupe his wife's black guardian and her sharecropper husband out of their land. This was the first major motion picture with a black actor to ever be shot on location in the South. The cast and crew received death threats from the Ku Klux Klan, had their car tires slashed, and had to be protected by armed state troopers. This twenty-page deluxe pressbook contains the usual synopsis of the film, informative articles about cast and crew, various sizes of ad slicks, and promotional ideas about contests. With cover design by David Weisman, the overall condition is very good-- with some edge and surface wear on the front cover and some cuts in the ad slick section. All publicity and press material is intact.
