Original Universal Pictures Window Card (14x22) for the Andrew V. McLaglen adventure, HELLFIGHTERS (1968) starring John Wayne, Katharine Ross, Jim Hutton, and Vera Miles. Wayne's character named Chance Buckman is based on the life of Red Adair, who the famous oil-firefighter who became world famous extinguishing massive fires in oil fields around the world. An odd picture in the normal John Wayne canon, at least on the surface of it, the movie is nevertheless entertaining and brings the Wayne persona to bear on Adair's interesting life. Mr. Adair died in 2004. There is a small fold separation in this poster, which we will repair with archival tissue. Colors are vivid, and although the poster was gently used in a theater, we have graded it as fine. MovieArt Austin guarantees that this poster is an authentic U.S. one-sheet for this movie.
