Original Paramount Pictures Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the George Sidney's musical, HALF A SIXPENCE (1967) starring Tommy Steele, Julia Foster, and Cyril Ritchard. The film was based on the Broadway production that opened at the Broadhurst Theater in New York in 1965, ran for 511 performances, and was nominated for the 1965 Tony Award for the Best Musical. Tommy Steele was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actor and recreated his stage role in the film version. The film has the look and feel of an old-fashioned MGM musical. It was a product of the new age of big budget musicals that began with The Sound of Music and ended with Mame (1974) and Man of La Mancha (1972). The film's assets are in the songs, the dancing, and the performers. This original three sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition.
