This remake of the Ernest Hemingway short story "To Have and Have Not" for the third time resets the plot to the early days of the Cuban revolution. A charter boat skipper (Murphy), who needs money to pay off debts, gets entangled in a gun running scheme. Boasting some great action sequences, the film is beautifully photographed by Hal Mohr in actual Key West locations.
