Original 2 Fogli Poster (39x55) for the Mitchell Leisen romantic adventure, FRENCHMAN'S CREEK (1944) starring Joan Fontaine, Arturo de Cordova, and Basil Rathbone. Fontaine plays an English lady who is bored with her London life and goes to her country house where she meets and embarks on an adventure with a dashing pirate played by Cordova. The film won the Academy Awards for Best Art Direction. Incredible art of Joan Fontaine by Rinaldo Geleng. This original Italian poster is folded and in very good plus condition, with some tape on the reverse side that has turned brown with age. Although FRENCHMAN'S CREEK was released in the United States in 1944, the film did not appear in Italy until after the end of the war.
