Original 20th Century Fox Six Sheet Poster (81x81) for the William K. Howard comedy, THE FIRST YEAR (1932) starring Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell. Based on a play by Frank Craven, the title of the film refers to the first year of marriage after the honeymoon. Gaynor winds up marrying Farrell although she is really in love with another man. She then spends the rest of the movie nagging him to get rich so she can live her dream of traveling the world. This original six sheet poster is folded and in very fine condition, with only some minor water stains in the background area. Six sheets from the early thirties are in truth not common at all. This one is a really beautifully executed stone lithograph, which is in quite fine shape. Six sheets are generally printed on four or more separate panels and are assembled here with photo editing software to create one image. This poster could certainly be linen backed.
