Description
Original United Artists Gelatin Silver Print (8x10) Very Fine condition
Original United Artists Gelatin Silver Print (8x10) photograph for the Federico Fellini Roman fantasy, FELLLINI SATYRICON (1969) starring Martin Potter, Hiram Keller, and Max Born. The script is loosely based on the book written in the time of the Emperor Nero by the Roman writer Petronius. The book has survived only in fragments, and the film faithfully reflects that by being fragmentary also. The film follows the adventures and exploits of two young Roman men who are rivals in love for a coquettish and androgynous slave-boy. The whole story is told in a non-linear narrative structure with temporal inconsistencies and sudden changes in the dream-like mood and setting. The film evokes every extreme fantasy we might harbor about Roman decadence. This photograph is of Italian actor Luigi Zerbenati, who plays the role of the nymphomaniacs slave. The poster has some writing on the reverse side and appears to have been used by a newspaper in San Antonio, as it mentions the Woodlawn Theater. MovieArt Original Film Posters in Austin, Texas guarantees this photograph to be authentic, dating from 1970. MovieArt Austin does not sell reproductions.
