Original MGM Lobby Card Set (11x14) for the Harold S. Bucquet hospital drama, DR. KILDARE'S STRANGE CASE (1940) starring Lew Ayres, Lionel Barrymore, Laraine Day, and Shepperd Strudwick. Before the Richard Chamberlain TV Dr. Kildare in the 1960s, there were a whole series of Dr. Kildare movies made in the late 1930s and 1940s starring Lew Ayres. Ayres was a considerable star for MGM; his career was blunted, some say, by his conscientious objector status during World War II. In this film, Dr. Kildare attempts to save the reputation of a neurosurgeon (Strudwick) whose patients keep dying. This original lobby card set (title card and seven scene cards) is in very fine plus condition. And these cards come in the original MGM studio sleeve. An exceptionally nice lobby card set.
