Original U.S. Six-Sheet Poster for the Michael Ritchie directed ski film DOWNHILL RACER (1969) Almost a cult film with skiers and fans of winter sports, the film starred Robert Redford and Gene Hackman. Posters for the film have become much collected over the past decade. Minimalist monochromatic design with simple elements by Stephen Frankfurt make this poster one of the best large format posters of the sixties-seventies. Frankfurt also designed the campaign for ROSEMARY'S BABY. While this is a stock photo of the six sheet, the example that we offer for sale here was never assembled and is in very fine plus condition, really quite spectacularly good. This poster, while it is a U.S. poster, came from a Swiss archive and it has rubber stamp on the reverse side of the poster indicating that. This has a very slight impact, almost invisible, on the front side. Six sheets are large format posters comprised of four different panels which are butted together to display as one large poster.
