Original U.S. Three-Sheet Poster (41x81) Folded Theater-Used Average Used Condition
Columbia Pictures Original U.S. Three-Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Oscar Rudoph directed film DON'T KNOCK THE TWIST (1962). The film stars the absolute King of the Twist, the dance-craze of the early 1960s, Mr. Chubby Checker. Born Ernest Evans in Philadelphia (1941), Chubby Checker has a secured spot in the history of popular dance. As David Bowie once said, and I'll paraphrase, sometimes it is not so important who has done something first as it is who has done in second. Chubby Checker covered a song, "The Twist" that was originally performed by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters. And the rest is history. Columbia Pictures saw some gold in the craze and released this film in 1962. This poster was used in a theater and shows some signs of gentle use. This photo is a stock photo.
