Original Italian 39x55 Poster for the Hammer Film Production of THE DEVIL-SHIP PIRATES (1964). Hammer was adept at making horror films and had run through some of the best characters from the old horror-movie canon when they made two pirate films. Earlier was THE SCARLET BLADE. Both films seemed to up the ante in pirate brutality by importing some of the torture from the Hammer Horror playbook. Nevertheless, this movie did not do too well at the box office. The movie starred Sir Christopher Lee, Duncan Lamont, Barry Warren, Susan Farmer and Philip Latham. The Italians gave this poster a nice treatment, however, with art by the masterful Luigi Martinati. Condition is fine plus. Vintage. Authentic. Original. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions.
