MGM Original One-Sheet Poster (27x41), folded, for the Stanley Donen directed musical DEEP IN MY HEART (1954) starring Merle Oberon, Jose Ferrer, Paul Henried, Helen Traubel, Paul Stewart, Robert Easton and Ludwig Stossel. MGM made four films which were loose biographies of musical composers. Each of these films mixes the music with melodrama to create typical MGM Entertainments. DEEP IN MY HEART concerned Operetta compose Sigmund Romberg. The film takes it's title from a song from Romberg's "The Student Prince". Most of the musical numbers are perfomred in cameo appearances by MGM stars Tony Martin, Ann Millelr, James Mitchell, Jane Powell,, Joan Weldon, Vic Damone, Howard Keel and others. Romberg himself was played by Jose Ferrer. Ferrer was then married to Rosemary Clooney, who also appears in the picture. Other composers profiled in these MGM Musicals include Jerome Kern (TIL THE CLOUDS ROLL BY), Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart (WORDS AND MUSIC) and Bert Kalmar and Harry Ruby (THREE LITTLE WORDS).
