Twentieth Century Fox Original U.S. Half-Sheet Poster (22x28) for the Michael Curtiz directed western THE COMMANCHEROS (1961). The film stars John Wayne, Ina Balin, Stuart Whitman, Lee Marvin, Nehemiah Persoff, Bruce Cabot, Patrick Wayne and Joan O'Brien. Wayne was deeply in debt after financing THE ALAMO, and he began working hard to retire the debt. THE COMMANCHEROS is an action western made in CinemaScope, and directed with skill by Michael Curtiz. This poster was used in a theater in Quebec, and someone has painted over the word "The" in the title, replacing it with the French "Les". So please notice that. The poster was originally folded but has been stored flat and it has some tape stains on the front, and has a Province of Quebec censor stamp. This poster could be rather easily restored.
