Original U.S. Lobby Cards (11x14) for the Robert B. Spafford directed drama THE CHRISTINE KEELER AFFAIR (1963). The film stars Yvonne Buckingham as Christine Keeler and Alicia Brandet as Mandy Rice-Davies. The movie attempts to dramatize the scandal that erupted in Britain when Dr. Stephen Ward introduced the teenage Christine to the Secretary of State for War, John Profumo. Christine got around, as they say, and she was also pals with a Soviet Naval Attache. None of it ended well. In 1964, the Tory government ended, rocked unhappily by the tawdriness of it all. The movie was almost contemporary with the actual shenanigans, and in fact Keeler and Rice-Davies themselves appeared in the film. Buckingham had been acting in films for years - she appeared in over 22 films - but not too many after this one!
