Produced during the Australian film renaissance of the 1970s, this is a true story of a part aboriginal man who cannot successfully adapt to white culture and eventually turns to horrific violence after he suffers one humiliation after another by white settlers in 19th Century Australia. The film poignantly asks the question is it morally justified to use violence against a corrupt, racist, violent system in which there is no lawful means to receive justice?
