Original Italian Four Foglio Poster for the 1968 version of CAROLINE CHERIE. The film was directed by Denys de la Pantelliere and starred France Anglade, Vittorio De Sica, Bernard Blier, Karin Dor, Charles Aznavour, Gert Frobe and Jean-Claude Brialy. IMDBPro offers this synopsis: "France, July, 1789. Whilst a party of aristocrats are enjoying themselves in the Bois de Vincennes, the French Revolution is beginning to get underway. At the insistence of her father, 16 year old Caroline de Bivre must marry the politician Georges Berthier, but she is in love with the younger, more handsome Gaston de Sallanches." This story has been filmed multiple times and this version is a splashy widescreen color version suitable for the liberated late sixties, photographed nicely by Sacha Vierny. This popular entertainment was the effort of several productions companies and is a French - German - Italian co-production.
