The film was not given much attention by the public when it was released, but it has been praised for attention to detail and its accurate portrayal of the period at the near-end of World War II in Europe. It was adapted from a novel, "The Algonquin Project" by Frederick Nolan. Wilcox[5] published in 2008 lends credence to the idea.
