Feeling betrayed by the country he fought for, he becomes an anti-war and pro-human rights activist. Nominated for eight Academy Awards (including Best Picture and Tom Cruise for Best Actor), it won the Oscars for Best Director (Oliver Stone) and Best Film Editing.
