Paramount Pictures Original Scene Lobby Card from the Josef Von Sternberg masterpiece BLONDE VENUS (1932) starring Marlene Dietrich, Herbert Marshall, Cary Grant, Dickie Moore and Sidney Toler. The film concerns a German cabaret singer who is married to an American chemist (played by Herbert Marshall.) The couple hopes for a domestic life, but when the husband becomes sick, Dietrich must return to the stage as her vampy character The Blonde Venus. Medical treatments for the husband are expensive, and she prostitutes herself to a wealthy businessman played by Cary Grant. Of course, things get complicated and soon Dietrich and her young son played by Dickie Moore are on the run. BLONDE VENUS is considered by many to be Dietrich's best film. Von Sternberg was in every sense Dietrich's Svengali, and he uses the beautiful cinematography by Bert Glennon to its very best advantage. Here is the ultimate incarnation of Dietrich as The Goddess. This lobby card is one of the better lobby cards in the set. Condition is very fine plus. Rare and beautiful.
