Buena Vista Original U.S. One-Sheet Poster for the 1972 re-release. This is a curiosity - a re-relase poster from the year of the original release, 1972. We are not sure why this was done, but the poster is clearly marked r72, which means that the studio considered this poster a re-release poster. There are posters simply dated 1972, and there doesn't appear to be any difference in the posters. The film was a remake of a 1940 Paramount Film of the same title. It's about a white boy and a black boy who make friends with the help of a hound dog. The film has an excellent cast including Lew Ayres, Godfrey Cambridge, Pat Crowley, Earl Holliman, Johnny Whitaker and George Spell. The art by Paul Wenzel is charming.
