This is the story of two brothers,Karl (Barthelmess) is an adopted workaholic super achiever, while his brother Stephan (Foster) wastes his time on alcohol and women. Both brothers enter medical school together, but Karl winds up taking the rap and serving four years in prison for an illegal and unsuccessful operation that his incompetent brother performs. This pre-code film is an early talkie, and everyone overacts and hams it up accordingly. Here we see Barthelmess and Norman Foster, the two brothers at odds with one another..
