Charming poster of Mexican comic Cantinflas, a,k.a. Mario Fortino Alfonso Moreno Reyes, from a 1940 film AHI ESTA DETALLE. Cantinflas was well-known to Spanish-speaking audiences both in the United States and internationally. But he became an well-known overnight star in America when he appeared as Passepartout, David Niven's irrepressible sidekick in the 1955 event-film AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS. Chaplin praised him as one of the great comics and he was beloved for his peasant character, prone to mischief and with a loving heart. Many of the best Mexican posters from his film present a caricature of the character and it is no different here. The native condition of this poster was very good. It had a small hole which was repaired in the restoration. The poster has been linen-backed and presents beautifully. It's a very nice image of this great comic.
